A Snowy Afternoon....

 So we took a walk today to the nearby park, where we always go on our walks (and runs when it's nicer out).  It was chilly and a little muddy/slushy....but beautiful all the same.  Thought I'd share some of the pics with you guys...since I know how much I LOVE being nosy and checking out all of your pics too. :)

Sweet & Salty

Well hello out there! My entry writing has sucked big time lately, but honestly....it's hard to find time! Been working two jobs now, we're hoping to buy a house sometime in the near future so we've been focusing on saving up & all that fun stuff.  Two weekends ago Jay, Josh, and a bunch of our friends and I went to a rave for our friend Justin's birthday. It was in Toronto, so we decided to pitch our money in together and just rent a limo to take us to and pick us up from it afterwards. I had worked one of the hardest days of my life (we had a 50% off of everything in stock sale going on, and only me and two 16 yr old girls working that day.....there was an hour and a half wait just to be served, I definitely deserved to go out that night!!!) I wasn't really sure what to expect out of the whole thing.....but it exceeded any thought I might of had X10.  Soooo much fun. There were about 5-6 rooms with different music playing in each one....my favourite was the Jungle room, it was amazingly huge and they had a variety of different DJ's scratching and spinning....every single person there was doing their own crazy dance, every sort of person you could imagine.  There was breakdancing & drag queens & lots of people with glow sticks...lol.  Amazingly even though the place was massive, there were no trouble-makers - everyone just wanted to have a good time.  We took lots of pictures and one girl took a video of the final song but yeah I had a blast! It's great to go out every once in awhile...especially homebodies like us! And when everybody stumbled out into the light at 6:30 am....it was the best feeling to have our limo guy waiting right at the front of the building for us...door to the limo open, big smile on his face....all we needed was a red carpet...hahah.  The hundreds of people waiting in the lineup for limited taxis were not impressed. Sucks to be them! :)  Other than that not too much else is new....I saw my sister last weekend and her boyfriend Brandon.  She is almost done with her school now...she went to some Vet Tech convention the week before and was in heaven!! She is just so excited about her career...I love it. Not many people find that in life, I'm just so proud of her for doing so well at something she's wanted so badly. Yay, Jess :) 

Anyway, I should be off. This has turned out longer than I meant! I have a lot of chores to get done around the house....it's weird but I have a new LOVE for cleaning.....I really do. I never thought this day would come. *sniff sniff*

Something in the way she moves....

Turkey dinner with Grampa M = a success! There's nothing better than listening to jokes and stories with family you love and great food. I'm thankful! We had a really great time with Jay's grampa and his cute girlfriend Vicki.  Jay and him are so alike it always makes me giddy...Even in this picture they're both doing the same thing. Hahahaha. Oh man.

What's new in the past couple days? Not much....today Jay and I went to mail off a couple of his exams - slowly but surely we inch our way closer to being done! I'm so happy we decided to finally step it up a notch lately...I mean it's been really fun the past few years...carefree and crazy...but we're definitely ready to move into that next stage in our lives. I'm so glad we've been able to start really saving (despite our student loans...grrrr).  This past year we saved more than we had in the previous two, so that alone is something to be happy about! Let's hope we can keep it up!

Anyway, I have a surprise shift tomorrow at work...they called yesterday and there's a sale starting so I might not have to get a new job right away after all. We'll see how busy it gets I suppose. Today is lots of laundry day & hunting for jobs online....so have fun all and take care!

2007 & ready for everything!

Well, haven't written on here for a little while....Have I been slacking or what!! It seems with all the exciting news that everyone's sharing lately mine just doesn't compare. Congratulations to all the new mommies out there......I can't imagine how crazy this time must be for you, I can't wait until I get to experience it myself. I really look forward to reading about how you're all doing and the progress you make.

Christmas was splendid.....Even though my sister and I had to celebrate it together on Christmas Eve (she and I were doing opposite family visits on Christmas) we made our little time together lots of fun. We got to visit Jay's grandpa, who I adore sooo much. He is Jay in 40 years.....including the inventions, toys and numerous jokes he's always sharing with us. I love that man. He gave Jay this amazing war necklace with his initials engraved on the back. How cool eh! Jay was really happy - being the oldest grandchild has its benefits!! We also got to spend lots of time with all of Jay's family, what a bunch. I really do look forward to seeing them more often....it's nice having all of them here in our town...but seriously, time goes so fast you don't even realize it before it's Christmas again! (Resolution #1 - more family time!!!)...hehe.....We spent Christmas morning opening presents with Jay's mama, and then it was off to my aunt's house in Oakville. Oh man,  we're a little overwhleming...I swear my family is the loudest, most out-going/insane I've ever met.  We had music blasting, lots of food, and even TRIVIA at the end of it all.....11 hours later and we were completely pooped. When we got home that night it was pillow straight to head and out for the count. My family is always intense and crazy... But so much fun....

New Years was very rainy, so instead of crashing a couple of house parties we decided to stay home and celebrate. Up all night, dance parties, discussions, cuddling & Heineken...who could ask for anything more? It was great.

Now that everything has winded down a bit and we're off into the new year I'm excited about finding a new job. I'm still working at McCarthy's on the weekends, but I need something during the week.  Going to hit our big mall on Monday and see what's out there. 

Yesterday my Gramma, Mom and I went to see 'The Pursuit of Happyness'.  It was actually fairly good, Will Smith and his son make a good acting team.  It was really sweet to be able to spend time with my Grams & Mom at the same time.....we have been doing that a lot more the last little while and I'm loving it.  My Gramma has the biggest heart in the world and I will spend my life striving to be the lady that she is.  :)  Weird coincidence - Wednesday I downloaded 'Raging Bull' with Robert DeNiro - I always meant to watch it, DeNiro is one my favourites, and it was really, really good. A little depressing, but amazing acting.....Anyway, I was telling my Mom and Gramma about it and how they should watch it, and in the middle of the movie Happyness....Will Smith's character grabs a taxi and it's got Raging Bull on the top advertised!!! Weird eh? The fact that I just happened to download that exact movie the night before and watch it? My Mom and Gramma were both pretty astonished...I don't know...things like that intrigue me so much.....So many things like that happen in my life all the time...I tend to get weird patterns around me or maybe I'm more aware of them...who knows...it's just fun and weird....  Ahhh, yeahhh...I'm a freak...

Sooo...right now Jay is downstairs playing with his new helicopter (he got a bunch of toys for Christmas, I will put up some pics below...)  He also got this amazing UFO that flies up in the air and hovers....it's soooo much fun! We bought Jay's mom a new, GREAT, digital camera so hence the new pics........I'm off to work tomorrow and then Jay's Grandpa and his girlfriend will be coming over for Sunday dinner so lots of cleaning to do Sunday morning!
